Match Information
LRSA hosts PRS style precision rifle matches. All skill levels are encouraged to participate. Matches are one day matches usually held on Saturdays. See our schedule page for match dates.

LRSA ORIGINS
In October of 2018 J. Drayton held the last Sheep Creek Invitational and had a solid turn out. After that he wanted to focus on more service based matches and now hosts the Arctic Guardian. In 2019 J. Furrer decided to start hosting matches at USSA. LRSA was not born until after a few matches and he found out that doing it by himself was not sustainable. By the finale of the 2019 season LRSA was born and some of the regular shooters were recruited to help plan the future of PRS style shooting in Alaska. Several meetings were held over the winter and plans were made and the matches and the shooters got better.
LRSA Transition Years
Joe ran the club with help from regular shooters for a few years and recently relocated to the lower 48. Kevin has taken the wheel and is keeping PRS shooting in Alaska alive. LRSA has grown and is completely volunteer operated. Money from the Intro to PRS Clinic and the match fees are used to make the matches better for shooters.
LRSA TODAY
2023 was a great year and we had tons of fun. We witnessed great growth in our shooters skills. We continue to have lots of new competitors. Most of our matches are held exclusively at Upper Susitna Shooters Association in Talkeetna, AK. We had a match in Kenai this season and plan to continue that for 2024. Kenai matches are held at Snowshoe Gun Club in Kenai, AK. Keep your eyes open for additional dates on the Peninsula. So far we have only offered PRS style shooting and plan to broaden our scope and host a NRL Hunter match.
